It is unsafe for the dog to be in the enclosure while Kamba M is being applied or until it has completely dried. While Kamba M is generally considered safe for pets once it has dried, direct contact with the wet spray can cause irritation and potentially more serious health issues if ingested. To ensure your dog's safety, (1) remove the dog from the enclosure before applying Kamba M. (2) apply Kamba M according to the label instructions. Pay close attention to the recommended application rate and weather conditions. (3) Allow the herbicide to dry completely. This usually takes around 24 hours but can vary depending on weather conditions. Check the product label for specific drying times. (4) Once the herbicide is dry, it is generally safe for the dog to return to the enclosure. However, monitoring the dog for signs of illness or unusual behaviour is a good idea.

The withholding period (WHP) for Kamba M Herbicide states 'not graze or cut for stock food for seven days after application'. Technically, this WHP must be adhered to if the sheep are due to go to market, slaughtered or used for human consumption. If they are not planned to be used for this purpose, a small amount of overspray or spray drift should not pose a significant problem.

  9. Q Will Kamba M Herbicide kill Creeping Charlie weed (Glechoma hederacea)?
Asked by Graham on May 18, 2024 6:00 am
    Answered by the admin

Kamba M Herbicide is not registered or claims to control 'Creeping Charlie'. To the best of our knowledge, no selective herbicides are registered. As Kamba M is a selective herbicide for the control of broadleaf weeds in turf, repeat applications are likely to suppress the weed. However, as this application is 'off-label,' a trial is recommended, and results are not guaranteed.

The Kamba M Herbicide label advises that it should not be applied to legume pastures, crops or grass pastures undersown with clover, Lucerne or medics. As Lucerne is a broadleaf plant species, which is what Kamba M targets, it is advised not to be used in this situation as severe damage or death may occur.

A wetting agent should be added to guarantee the best results when spraying Kamba M Herbicide. Under no circumstances do we recommend using dishwashing liquid as it is designed to remove grease off dishes & generate bubbles, not assist with the spread and penetration of herbicides. We suggest reading our blog on why detergents are not suitable wetting agents (https://specialistsales.com.au/information-advice/why-detergents-are-not-suitable-wetting-agents/). A non-ionic wetting agent such as reactor 600 or wetter 1000 is ideal for use with Kamba M Herbicide. However, any spray oils and premium penetrants will also provide excellent results.

Zoysia grass is not listed as tolerant or intolerant on the Kamba M Herbicide label. Zoysia grass species can be sensitive to dicamba herbicides, and using Kamba M on Zoysia turfgrass may cause damage. This damage could range from discolouration, stunted growth, or even death of the turf. An off-label trial could be conducted at your own risk in a small discrete area to test the product's suitability for this species. Kamba M Herbicide is not registered or recommended for hose spray/dilution applications. Dilution rates are unknown, would be 'off-label', and results can't be guaranteed. The herbicide should make complete foliar contact with the plant/weed for best results. When applied by hose sprayers, the herbicide on the soil or flushed into the root system is ineffective. This application method may be successful once you find the correct dilution rate. Be careful not to apply too much selective herbicide as phytotoxicity may occur, and death or damage, such as the yellowing of leaves, may result.

Kamba M Herbicide is not explicitly registered for controlling sour sob (Oxalis pes-caprae) in turf. However, Kamba M Herbicide is registered to control Creeping Oxalis (Oxalis corniculata). Oxalis corniculata and Oxalis pes-caprae are related plants as they are both in the genus Oxalis, which is a genus of flowering plants that includes over 800 species. They are both small, perennial plants with clover-like leaves and yellow flowers. However, they have some key differences, such as their growth habit and their mode of reproduction.

Kamba M Herbicide is not registered or recommended for use in domestic situations other than turf and lawn areas.  We do not recommend spraying Kamba Dicamba M  product on or near desirable trees or plants or in locations where the chemical may be washed or moved into contact with their roots, as this may result in severe injury or death.  As Myoporum is a broadleaf species of plant, it is very likely to be susceptible to Kamba M Herbicide, and severe damage or death may occur if it comes in contact with the spray.

The Kamba M Herbicide 'Directions for Use' are available on the Specialist Sales website in the 'SDS and Technical' Tab.  The application rates depend on the Crop / Situation being sprayed and Weeds being targeted.

For example, in Small Turf Areas (lawns): 100mL in 15L water sprayed evenly over 150m2 (1L will cover 1500m2) and Cereal Crops 1L-1.7L per Ha (10,000m2).

We recommend carefully reading the  'Directions for Use' to ensure the correct application rates for your situation.

Depending on the maturity of the Capweed plants, the Kamba M Herbicide may only suppress the plant.  If this occurs, reapply the Kamba M in approximately 2-3 weeks.  The Kamba M Herbicide is most effective on actively growing weeds and, in the case of Capeweed, when they are at the 2-4 leaf stage.
